Since then he has suffered seizures and was in coma for several days. His physicians have diagnosed him with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, meaning brain damage due to lack of oxygen and low blood flow. The Chinese physicians will consult with neonatologists Joseph Kitterman and David Stevenson from Lucile Packard Children's Health Services to determine a plan for recuperation and management of the patient to prevent further complications. A 12-year-old girl who has been suffering from shortness of breath, fatigue and abnormal heart rhythms. Her physicians in China have diagnosed her with viral myocarditis, an inflammation of the muscular walls of the heart. Her physicians will consult with pediatric cardiologists David Teitel and Daniel Bernstein to determine the best therapies for this patient's recovery. |
